Assignment III - Progress

These are two different views of the same luminaire. The plan view makes the model appear as if it were made to be a wall sconce.

I'm glad you showed both a perspective view and a plan view. Had you not mentioned it, I might have thought the plan view was a wall sconce, as you said. I really like the light pattern that it casts. What was your motivation in blocking off two sides of the light? I think it creates in nice effect, am and curious what led you to try it.

Have you given thought to the material palette of the luminaire? If so, I'd be interested to learn of it in your final presentation. In the image you've displayed, I have a sense of what the materials might be, but would like to know what you intend them to be.

Great start! Looking forward to learning more about it.

Your models in progress are looking pretty good. I love how the contrasting elements all melt together to form one conhesive unit. The choice and order of the materials seem to be really natural too, with the dense material on the bottom and the transluscent in the middle, it makes the top piece look like it is just floating along. I am expecting big things for the next assigment.
